Tour Description

This is the second most important city of our Inca territory. Choquequiraw is, as Machupicchu, quite conserved, being as well a complex of considerable dimension. This trek starts in a small village called Cachora, belonging to the valley of the river Apurimac. We will descend to that valley in order to then walk uphill till Choquequiraw. Along the route, it may be appreciated the most impressive and beautiful mountains of the Vilcabamba range, such as the snow peak Salkantay, Humantay, Soray, Padre Eterno and others. This is a new and marvelous trek route.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Cachora - Playa Rosalina

Early in the morning we will departure from Cusco, in our private bus, to the destiny of Cachora, taking us to arrive there an average of four hours. There, after resting and organizing our route, we will continue the trek for three hours more until reaching Rosalina, in the surroundings of the river Apurimac. There we will camp.

Day 2: Playa Rosalina - Choquequirao

Early in the morning, due to the hot weather of the valley, we will continue our route. After crossing a bridge, upon the Apurimac, our trek will be uphill, but through a moderate slope and good way leading us to Choquequirao.

Day 3: Archeological Complex Choquequirao

Early in the morning, we will have our guided visit, of three hours of length, to the archeological complex. Then we will have lunch, and after it we shall return.

Day 4: Chiquisca - Cachora - Cusco

Having advanced downhill in the trek until Chiquisca, the day before, we will continue to walk towards the river Apurimac, and then to Cachora. We will walk for approximately six hour along the day, until arriving to Cachora where a bus will be waiting for us in order to return to Cusco, arriving there at night.
